Cooking dinner in a crock pot is like being in two places at once!

We are scoring left and right with the sales at our local Macy's.

May I present you with the latest addition to our super teeny tiny kitchen counter, our new crock pot:

Not only did we get the crock pot for a screaming deal, we also got the free Little Dipper. You know, so we can make smaller crock pot creations for Babboo.

This crock pot is like the rolls royce of crock pots. The one we had been previously using was a wedding gift from my first marriage. Be assured it was a piece of crap back then, and time hasn't been good to it. So yeah, it sucked. The lid never really fit right causing the crock pot to not work properly. I mean come on, the system of slowly cooking ones meal works solely based on the fact that the pot is securely sealed.

We used our new crock pot on Sunday. Before church The King filled it with a few bottles of BBQ sauce and some cheap stew meat. Three hours later we returned home, made corn bread and baked beans and enjoyed a meal of the most deliciously tender meat in the history of our crock pot using days.

Yummy.

(While the meat was enjoyed on Sunday, unfortunately the damn apartment still reeks of BBQ sauce. Not so awesome.)

Rumor has it that there are some pretty great crock pot recipe books out there. Looks like finding a good one might be my next New Thing.

Crock pots are awesome, yes. Not that I know through personal experience; Luke does our cooking. I can say, though, that the corned beef and cabbage he made last year for St. Patrick's Day was DELICIOUS.

I have the exact same crockpot and it's marvelous. By the way, does your family like chicken tacos? If so all you have to do is put a few pieces of chicken in the crockpot, cover it with a jar of salsa, when you get home the chicken will easily shred with a fork and it's delicious in a soft or hard taco with all the fixins!

Oooh, yum! I'm jealous of your little dipper -- I bet that would be great for making smaller portions of queso dip or other things that are delicious but we REALLY don't need a whole big pot of.

We're big fans of crock pot ribs. You broil them for 5 minutes on each side (I think?) and then put them in the crock pot with a bottle of BBQ. They are so tender and delicious!

I have same crock pot except that it's DIGITAL! and it like has a timer and a vibrate setting... oh wait... I might be confusing my crock pot with my vibrator. Oh well.. it's still digital. Yay for the awesome Rival crock pots.

DUDE. Crockpots rule. Our crockpot cookbook, which came with a different pot than yours, is lame. I get recipes off the handy interweb.

BUT, I do this often: bbq sauce + pork tenderloin in the pot. When it's done, it falls apart and we make pulled pork sandwiches (with melted cheese on rolls/buns). SO DAMN GOOD. Then the leftover pork? We make quesadillas out of it, and yummmmyyy. I can't tell you how good they are.

Carry on.

Hey Isabel,
I have one of these. It's also called a 'slow cooker' rite? Well do u know some good recipes to make in it? The ones I've found on the internet is kinda "experimental".
I'm going to try the meat and BBQ thing. Sounds yum

I loves me crock pot!!! I have a cookbook from Betty Crocker specifcally for slow cookers. Don't know if it is good or not as I haven't tried anything in it yet.

Also, Carrisa? Where did you get said vibrator with the timer? That could be like a game.
