Bowling alley germs for everyone!
We were invited to a surprise birthday party last weekend. This wasn't just any birthday party, this was a bowling party.
Bowling with a toddler. Yahoo!!! And also, a New Thing!
I bought a gift, made cupcakes, and we headed to the local bowling alley for a night of food, friends and fun. Some other friends brought their kids along, so we decided to get a game going for the kids. Bowling shoes, bumper pads and all.
Fun times.
The King gave Babboo a quick overview on the art of bowling.
See this bowling ball? Yeah, push it down this lane.Too bad The King didn't give me any lessons on The Correct Way to Bowl. I pretty much looked like a tool the entire night. I mean seriously, check out my form. No wonder I lost to Babboo.
Baboo quickly lost interest in the game. I don't blame him, because quite frankly, so did I. Do you know how long it takes a bowling ball to get the pens when it's being pushed by a 18 month old? Yeah, it takes forever.Eventually Baboo only wanted to crawl around on the dirty bowling alley floor with the other kids. My eyes started to twitch every time I looked at him. I was reapplying the Purell after every turn. I kid you not. I would have soaked Babboo in it, if I could have only caught him.

My brother recently had a bowling birthday party, and I'm pretty sure Babboo could have outscored me, too. In the lane next to us there was a toddler bowling and she had a fancy metal ramp thing that her parents helped her set the ball on top of and then she would push the ball, it'd roll down the ramp and pick up some momentum, and then roll (still slowly) down the lane. It was freaking adorable. And the chick did pretty good too! You should tell Babboo to get himself a cool metal ramp next time he goes bowling.
We were invited to a 3-year-old's birthday party at a bowling alley. We can't go but I was looking forward to taking Evan!!
Bowling is fun! I twitched a little too when you mentioned crawling around on the bowling alley floor....

I like bowling, but I can take like 7 frames. Kind of like golf. I can handle 6 holes, then it's either snacktime or whiny/meltdown time. That floor, btw, looks sticky. Blech.
