New Thing in bed, in honor of Valentines Day

The King and I had a house guest last night. She was forced to sleep on the couch, as our apartment only has the one bedroom. The one bedroom that is currently shared with 2 adults, one baby, and one (still very) furry cat.

Having a house guest is NOT my New Thing for the week. I've done that before. What is new is what happened after we all went to bed last night.

Get your head out of the gutter, internet.

The King and I like to watch television at night. I like TV, surprise. But since our friend was on our couch, we couldn't stay up until all hours vegging away. We were forced to go to bed at 10:00 (which isn't so bad for me, but The King hates going to bed that early).

We came up with a plan. A very good plan in which we could be in bed together, but still watch TV together.

We quickly made a dash for our briefcases and then hopped into bed. We put our headphones on, turned on both of our video iPods and synced up an episode of "Extras".

Oh, David Brent how I have missed you.

While it may have been super geeky of The King and I to watch our own little iPod video screens side my side in bed, it was also so freakin' awesome. We were totally synced up, so we could laugh at the same parts and everything. It was even better than watching TV on our couch. You can't beat being snuggled up in bed together.

Okay, so if we continue to do this we'll have to spend more money to download episodes to both iPods. But maybe, just maybe it's worth it for some quality time together in bed.

That sounds less "geeky" and more "adorable" to me. You guys are so cute!

That's so cool. You know you can also watch tv on the internet? Like go to abc.com or nbc.com and catch the latest episode of your fav show? This is how I watch Grey's Anatomy... and Survivor.

Oh Barfarama.

KIDDING. That's adorable! I love it and may have to try it with Mr. Squirrel.

Wooot!

And who crashes at someone else's house--a COUPLE'S HOUSE--on Valentine's day? I'm just saying?

I think the iPod fest is delicious!

I love watching TV in bed. I usually always have to watch TV or a movie as I'm going to sleep. It makes me sleep good and wake up happy.

It's very cute and very you and The King. I might be missing something but why don't you get a TV for the bedroom and just watch TV? I love falling asleep with the TV on.
